“Baroc” Twill Silk Scarf, 75 x 75 cm

The image reproduced on the scarf is from “Baroc”, an ink-on-paper work created in 2026 by the artist Ștefan Câlția.

Following a conversation with curator Liviana Dan about the Baroque balconies of the Ursuline buildings in Sibiu, Ștefan Câlția imagined and drew an ornamental wrought-iron design that evokes both this urban architectural heritage and the rural world of Lazăr’s Forge, which he built in Șona.

“The Baroque scarf can be worn on an autumn day in Șona, in the exuberance of summer in the Făgăraș Land, by the ocean in Normandy, in Vienna at any time of year, and, without question, at Christmas in New York,” says curator Liviana Dan.
